SUPERLAB EQUIPMENT
SURFACE GLOSS (GLOSS @ 60°)
Surface gloss (GLOSS @ 60°) according to ASTM D 523 – ASTM D 2457.
The surface gloss test (Gloss) differentiates plastic materials according to their ability to reflect a beam of bright light projected onto a specimen at a well-defined angle.
CHROMATIC COORDINATES (CIE LAB)
The reading of the chromatic coordinates (L,a,b,) in the color space defined by Hunterlab determines a precise evaluation of the color of a specimen and/or an artefact.
HAZE/TRANSMITTANCE
These are very important measurements for determining the opacity and/or transparency of plastic materials.
MICROSCOPY WITH AN OPTICAL MICROSCOPE
Generally, both the artefacts and/or their parts are subjected to microscopy to investigate any surface anomalies due to their modeling or functioning. For identification purposes, the inert residues can be investigated, after calcination in a muffle, to evaluate their type and size.
“POLYMERS & COMPOSITES”
The educational contribution that cannot be missing in the daily practice of professionals who in various capacities operate in the plastics sector.
The work tells about the world of polymers, the way of producing them and qualifying them, with the ambition of encouraging the development of applications according to the expected performance expectations.
You can learn how to intervene on polymer matrices to adapt them to transformation technologies, with the aim of obtaining qualitatively and commercially competitive products, imposing adequate attention to the effects on the environment in the formulation interventions, while trying at the same time to transfer knowledge and affection for polymeric materials.
